pictures from last night

Hey Baby- hope you had a great sleep last night.  Here are the pictures from dinner last night.  As you might recall, I called you from the restaurant at 8:23 pm to say goodnight- we had still not eaten!!!!   We ended up back at the hotel at 11 pm last night.  It was a late night and the dinner was not even that good.  Momma had Paella, which is a rice and meat dish from Spain.  It was not that good- the sausage was burnt to a crisp and the paella was very greasy.  We ordered dessert too, and it was yuck, even though it was chocolate.  I can see why the waiter recommended the bread pudding instead.  I will not be going back to L.egal S.eafood T.est K.itchen.

We were a pretty global group last night.
I have meetings all day and then another dinner meeting tonight.  I will call you after summer camp and then again before bed.  I love you lots and lots and forever, forever and always.

Have a great day-

Love Momma

Some notes- some changes coming

Something happened on Saturday evening that will require a lot of my attention for a long time.  To ensure that I can focus on this event and the fallout, after this week, the blog will be updated very infrequently.

For Popi, Mommi Mireya and the girls, I will forward pictures to you of the things Bug and I are doing, so that you can see how our summer is going.

I will be traveling to Boston this week for work, so the blog will be updated for Bug, so he can see what I am doing.

Please keep Bug and me in your prayers.

Love and hugs,
Deb

First professional baseball game

We had a wonderful afternoon.  We took the boys to see their first real live baseball game!!!!!

Silly boys, before heading off to the game

The view from our seats- we were 4 rows from the top- but totally in the shade.  The temperatures today were up in the 90s.  I think Little M had trouble seeing the batters, but Bug was watching for most of the time.  The boys made it 3 innings before they needed a walk.
Right after getting to our seats- yes it was definitely hot and humid.

Bug desperately wanted cotton candy- but I think when he got it, he did not like it as much as he thought he would

Momma and Bug. By this time, we had taken a walk, during which the boys decided they wanted hot dogs and icee snow cones.  They liked those much better.

Momma of Little M, little M and daddy of little M.  We had a great time hanging out with them all day.

The boys, showing how they are statues too.

We left the game after 5 innings- 2 hours.  The score was 1-0, with the other team winning.  As we walked back to the car, the crowd started roaring and then the fireworks went off right in front of us!!!  A home run for our team.  The boys thought seeing the fireworks was totally cool.  When I talked to my mom at 8 pm the game was still going on, in extra innings.  So glad we left when we did. The boys loved the time there and they were ready to come home.
Once home, the boys played on their scooters.  Yes, Bug has a scooter and he loves it.

Little M and Daddy.  Daddy M went and picked up pizza for us to have for dinner.  It was delicious after being in the heat and humidity all day.

After dinner, Bug and I came home to bathe and get ready for bed.  But is now sleeping soundly. It was definitely a good day.

Love and hugs,
Deb

Bug's first school year is over

Today was the last day of school, so knowing me, you are getting a look back.  This is Bug on the first day of school, 26Aug2010.
And here he is this morning.  He insisted on the bear being in the picture.

Last ride on the bus with Mr. D, this morning.

The kids had a half day, and then the parents were invited to come have a picnic lunch with the kids and then take them home.  Bug was happy to see me and have lunch at the playground.  His classmate T and his little brother and grandmother joined us.

As we walked back to the car, Bug and T ran ahead- this is the future- Bug heading off in his own direction.  I have to give him wings to fly off on his own and find his own way in life.

Bug had T Ball tonight- he is doing so much better- his throwing has improved, his batting is consistent and he pays attention to the coaches.

Little M is having a good time mostly, too.

Little M heading for 1st  base.
We have a busy weekend coming up, Bug's first real life baseball game!!!! pictures of course, will be posted.

Not a Kindergartner any more

Today, I was supposed to attend the Kindergartner award ceremony at Bug's school.  When I arrived, I saw the kindergartners on the playground, but I was a few minutes early.  I went into the church to find a seat and asked some other parents if they knew where the kids were going to sit.  No one knew, so I sat down, just in time for the principal to announce that all the kids were now seated so they were going to start.  Only problem with this announcement was that the kindergartners were not in the church.  So I headed back outside to see what was going on.  Bug was busy playing, but was happy to point me to the teachers.
When I got over to the teachers, Bug's teacher was waiting.  Apparently Bug forgot to bring home a paper indicating that the kindergartners don't have awards!!!!!!!  But I got to see him playing with his friends.  It was nice to see him out playing, relaxed at school and just having a great time.

The boys headed off to the baseball field for a game of tag.

Bug looks like such a big boy now.  I guess he is not my 'nencito' any more, but he can still be my hombrecito.

This is Bug's teacher.  She is awesome!!!  Bug bought her flowers to take today and last night he dictated a thank you note to her to me.  He said that she teaches them everything, teaches them reading.  I remember a few months ago that he told me he likes her because she wears nice pants.

When bug came home, he brought a plethora of things made over the year and his report card.  I have to admit, I cried as I read that he was promoted to First grade- not because it was unexpected, but because it was something that seemed so far away just 4 years ago.  The items he brought home from school included a self portrait from September 2010 and May 2011, hand writing samples from each quarter of school, a book with every one's picture and name written out, a summer journal, and so much more.  I think everything that came home today is a keeper. I am so thankful for the positive experience Bug had this year with his teacher.  She has been a wonderful teacher and role model.  Thank you so much Mrs. C for all the time, effort and dedication you have pour out on the kids this year.  You are a blessing.

This year has been a huge year of growth for Bug. The recap on that topic is for tomorrow's post.

Love and hugs,
Deb

Time for a trip down memory lane

2009- age 3 years, 9 months

2010- age 4 years, 9 months

We start our 5th year as a family.  I am thinking that next year we might have to have a blow out celebration.  But this year it was delivery pizza after a full day of work and school.  I am off to make us some yummy dessert to close out our family day.  The big celebration is Saturday when I take Bug to his first baseball game.

Love to you,
