December 14 and 18- holiday concerts at school

Both the boys had concerts this week.  Unfortunately BB's concert had horrible lighting again, so only 1 picture.  He did a great job singing holiday songs.  His concert was on Sunday, 14Dec.

Bug's concert was on Thursday, 18Dec.  It was the beginning band concert.  The band is about 6 schools.  Bug's school had the most kids.
Here is bug, warming up

cute little smirk from him.

Intently concentrating on the music.

December 9- pack meeting, Christmas Party

We had Pack meeting on Friday.  Bug's Den was responsible for the flag ceremony.
Setting up, before the ceremony started.

The eager scouts, because this is also the Christmas party

The flags being brought in, led by cubmaster Jim

One of the boy scouts made me a cookie while I worked on crafts with the cub scouts

Thanks, scout D.

The kids working on the craft at my table- pinecone rain deer.  I had some pinecone trees for the older girls.  This was a great craft- easy and fun.

thanks so much,

St. Nick's Day

Let's catch up again.  Mr. Silly is back.  He has not done anything silly yet, he is just hanging out.

We got our trees set up.   I love sitting in the evening with them on.

The boys played twister last weekend.  The rules were slightly bent, as Bug sat on the mat for most of the time.

In the end, they were both sitting down.  The boys also got haircuts last weekend.

The lights outside.

This is the frozen rain that came down on Thursday.  We were only supposed to have regular rain, but no, this had to happen.  Thankfully it warmed up and it all melted.

St. Nick came this morning.  He filled our stockings, even the one for Pablo

Bug got some candy and 2 mini lego packs and the game UNO

Pablo got some dog bones with yummy smells.  He was trying to eat the packaging.

Momma got chocolate (yum)

BB got candy, a yo-yo, pokemon cards and an UNO game too.

Bug had his first basketball game today (no pictures since I had to coach the first quarter and then do the scorebook for the rest of the game).  Bug has some yummy black beans for lunch, which he put in tortilla chips.

The boys lost the first game 34-2.  It is going to be another long season.  So disappointed with his coaches that were late, they said they got lost.  We nearly forfeited the game since our boys did not have complete uniforms (3 boys needed jerseys and all but 3 boys needed shorts.  An absolute disaster.

tomorrow is game 2.  We'll see how it goes.

Thanksgiving- the morning

The day started with breakfast and the parade.  BB and Bug enjoyed homemade cinnamon rolls and fruit along with orange juice and chocolate milk (not mixed).

Happiness is parades and rolls.

The table set for breakfast.

Toward the end of parade, I put the turkey in the oven.  The boys were grossed out by the turkey guts (the neck, liver, and the heart).  It grosses me out too, but I deal with it because I love my family.  The boys were intrigued by putting herbs under the skin, along with butter.

This is the lunch spread. crackers, ham, turkey, cheese, veggie tray, the fruit and some snacks (chips and popcorn).

Now for some football and dinner should be around 4-5 pm today.  this will be the latest we have eaten in a long time.

more to come later today,

Love and hugs,
Deb

Pre- Thanksgiving holiday fun- baking and zoo lights.

it is the day before Thanksgiving and pie baking has been completed.  This is the apple pie that Bug requested.  The pumpkin pie is in the oven during this picture.

Bug worked on decorating the patio doors.  He did fix the direction of the letters.  This was my plan to keep him busy for an hour or so.

We headed out to the zoo to see the lights.  We always go early so we can see the animals.  I a so glad we it this year because the animals were very active and I am not talking about the human boy animals. :)

The Andean condor and the Steller's eagle were preening and showing off their wing span.  They are incredible.

The Emu was busy talking to us.  I have to say, these birds are not so incredible.

For the first time, we got to see the cougars up close and personal.  Usually they are on the rock ledge at the far end of their enclosure.

The tiger was pacing, ready for dinner (all the animals were waiting for dinner).  Bug was in heaven.  Bug and BB said the tiger was the best part of the zoo today.

Bug found the mini pine cone and used a normal pine cone to show the size difference.  Too cool.

The Red Panda was running around having fun in the cold weather (it was 36F, which is about 1 C)

BB was having fun with the meerkat statues

The bat ear fox was so cool looking

my animals

duck walking out of the tunnel

The boys enjoyed the train ride.

We saw some cool little birds

and sleeping bears.

I got some cool photos with the boys and the lights

I love these boys

Riding the eagles

howling at the moon

I love being a momma

the rainbow tunnel

Gingerbread man with my sweeties

The lights

Our little monkey family.

These were the coolest lights, they changed colors.  I want these.

We stopped at the gift shop and BB found Mrs. Claus.  She was so nice.

My boys, all ready for the holiday season.

Tomorrow is my favorite holiday- all about family, food, football and fun, as Bug and I discussed today.

Pictures coming tomorrow of all the festivities.

Love and hugs,
Deb
