Better late than never- Bug's family birthday

This is what an exhausted Bug looks like on a Friday night. Warm jammies and resting on the couch.

Sunday we headed over to Lulu's after church to visit and allow Bug to decorate his birthday cake.  He asked for a R2D2 shaped cake. first they had to mix the blue icing.

Then they had to put lots and lots of icing on the cake

The finished product!!!  Bug loved it and I loved it too.

Bug asked for corn, tomatoes, hot dogs and watermelon for dinner.  This was the last weekend to buy corn from the local farms.  The corn was good, but not as good as it was a week ago.  Bug eat 3 bites of corn, 2 pieces of tomato and 2 pieces of watermelon.  He did not eat his hot dog.  But he knew the cake was coming.

The present from Momma- his excitement was growing.  he has wanted this one since he saw the wrapped present 3 days ago.

There was much shooting of the 2 Robins, the Batman and the tunnel- one happy boy!!!!

The his final present- the ice age movies.  Actually, this was his first present opened.  They are going to be great for our family Friday night Movie nights.  Bug loves the ice age movies.

So that is the birthday- next up is Uncle Darrell's birthday.  Life is good and we are just enjoying it.  School starts again tomorrow so my fingers are crossed and my prayers are being said that Bug will settle into the school routine this week- eating his lunch and doing homework.  My fear is that he will not settle down in the next 2 weeks and my business trip in 2 weeks will throw him off even more. But I am not going worry about it - today has enough trouble, I have no need to borrow tomorrow's trouble.
