It was a gorgeous day today, so I took Bug out to one of the parks we love, but to which we have not been able to go to this year. I wish this park was closer to us, it was nice when Bug was at auntie Lulu's house all day, the park was equal distance from her house as it was to our house. Now that Bug is in school, it is 25 minutes from our house in traffic. But it is worth the drive.
It is awesome to see how much Bug has grown and how much he just goes for things versus hanging back and just watching.
We were going to feed the ducks, but we went to the edge and saw this!!! water over the wall and onto the walk way, then I noticed the grass- the water was all the way up the hill we were standing on. This is from the rain 2 days ago when we got 4 inches of rain over night.
Here, looking across the lake, you can see how high the water was on the opposite bank. The grayish line on the trees and bushes is where the water came up over the bank.
And here is the boat house, the path down to it is covered in mud and the boat house in inaccessible.
because of all the flooding, the ducks would not come up to get food (bread). But we had a good time.
Love to you,
Deb
Flooding? Water? I think I remember those words..... They are now having to make up new terms for our drought. They have now moved up from severe to 'entrenched'. What's next, 'sub-basement of hell'?
ReplyDeleteLove seeing you guys on the blog. Wish we lived closer to each other!!!!!
