school pictures- 7th grade

this the boy's school picture.  I cannot believe how much older he looks this year.  The kid is not such a kid looking kid anymore. I know I say it regularly that I can't believe how much time has past and how much he has grown, but I think I am in for a rude awaking the next few years in how much taller he is going to be.
I measured him a few weeks ago and cant remember if I put it out here.  The boy is 5 ft 3.25 inches tall now, that is 160.7 cm.  He has not even hit his biggest growth spurt yet.  When we go to visit Guatemala in 2018, I think that boy is going to tower over some of the girls in the foster family. It is going to be quite the change.

The boy and the dog.  Pablo is getting older, you can see it in his muzzle. This is in the morning before school.  My silly boys.

random sunrise this week.

The leaves are finally changing, though it is still quite hot here.  I am ready for cooler weather.

Leaving for Boy Scout Camp

Rocket has been preparing for Boy Scout Camp for the last few weeks.  We spent this week making lists, finishing laundry and writing his name on all his clothes. He will be gone for 6 days- coming home on Saturday.

He is going with 3 of his friends from school and one of the friend's older brother, along with most of his troop.  It is going to be an adventure.  He asked me to go up 2 times to help out this week.  It is different then cub scout camp- the boys will be working on different merit badges (though Rocket and his buddies picked some  of the same merit badges), so the adults are there to just make sure they get to meals and aren't staying in the tents when they should be at merit badge stations.  I am heading out on Tuesday and Friday and I promised Rocket I would not follow him around.  I did get him to agree that I could come quickly observe to get pictures for the other parents.

Rocket and his tent mate. I am not sure how much sleeping they will get this week.

Their senior patrol leader.  Also, one of the young men that I hope our new exchange student will become friends with once they are introduced.  D is very excited about our coming exchange student and is keen to meet him.

The boys getting together and getting away from the parents

The trailer all packed up.

Getting them organized, final instructions and prepping for the final photo for the parents.

Final picture- all ready to go

Loading up the bus with boys

And they're off.

Be safe, have fun, see you soon

How much can one little bug grow in one year?

Yes, the not so little man continues to grow.  I am very glad I did buy new pants for school yet as I think what I would have bought would be too small by the time school starts in 5 weeks.

In October, bug was 49.75 inches.  In November he was 50 inches, 2 weeks ago he was 52 inches tall. I need to measure him tomorrow, because he is definitely taller and continues to complain about leg pain (growth plate pain).  Why do I think I am going to end up. Like my grandmother, with a son towering over me?
