Last day of 8th grade- on to graduation

The weekend of 17May, the young man and his buddies headed up to the Indianapolis 500 time trials for a Boy Scout camping trip.  He loves this weekend trip and I wanted to go so bad.  But, instead I had to take sis to her mom for an unsupervised visit.   No one asked me about my schedule when it was set up.  I was not happy.  But the boy had fun and that is a good thing.

Monday was a US holiday and we went to the pool with friends.  the boys had a great time, sis wanted my attention constantly while I was talking with the other moms, or she wanted to eat.  It was a stressful day for me because she was being difficult.
She is being reunited with her mom this week- either Friday or Saturday.  The social worker needs to get the time pinned down.  I have cancelled almost all my plans for those 2 days in order to be able to accommodate the social worker coming to pick her up.  We will have a good bye dinner on Thursday night.

28May was Rocket's last day of school, last day at OLG.   He was excited, but you might never know that if I sent this picture.

Still not excited.

the school posts all the 8th graders and where they are going to high school.  These are the boys going to LaSalle.  He has 11 classmates going and 6 of them are good/close friends.  I think he will be OK in high school.

At the Award ceremony.   He received 3 awards, including 2 scholarships for his high school tuition. Since he is going to a Catholic high school, there is tuition.

He is walking back from getting his report card, awards and gifts from the teachers.

With his buddies and the principal.

Tonight is graduation, so I should have some pictures tomorrow.   I am going to try not to cry.

Love to you all,
Deb

clsoing in on the end of school year

I had a mom's night out on 03May.  I got to paint with some other foster moms.  This is me with M (the paintings are our last name initials).  She is fostering 3 kids and is expecting a little girl in the next few months.  It was great to sit with her for the evening and talk.

We celebrated Mam's 73rd birthday on Sunday, 05May.  We had 2 of her siblings and their spouses come, along with my nephew and his girlfriend/finance, and my cousin.  We had a great afternoon together.

Rocket had graduation pictures on Tuesday.  He looks so handsome.   I can not believe that he is going to be moving on to high school in 3 short weeks.

Tre, Rocket, Emmaus, Evan and Paul (writing out names for the future when Rocket's kids ask him who his friends were back in grade school).

Busy weekend coming up- Rocket is in the Spring Musical at school (he is the prompter for people who forget their lines during the show), and we have Mother's day to celebrate.

Love and hugs,
Deb
