Hoemcoming Parade= CANDY!!!!

This evening was the homecoming parade for the local high school.  Bug and I headed over after packing everything to keep us warm.  The weather is very cold (compared to how it has been the last few weeks). And it was very windy or blustery.

Bug needed his hoodie, a hat, long johns and a fleece blanket.  We are just not ready for cold weather yet.  Bug has been sick this week, lingering from last week, so I wanted to make sure he did not get sick again.  right now he only has the cough.

Being silly while waiting for the parade to start.

Is it coming?????
I have my bag all ready for the candy I am going to get

Here it comes!!!!!!

People throwing candy!!!!

Marching Band- DRUMMMMMMMMS

And a full bag of candy!!!  Oh, and a happy little man

Oh my gosh- a day at the park and flooding

It was a gorgeous day today, so I took Bug out to one of the parks we love, but to which we have not been able to go to this year.  I wish this park was closer to us, it was nice when Bug was at auntie Lulu's house all day, the park was equal distance from her house as it was to our house.  Now that Bug is in school, it is 25 minutes from our house in traffic. But it is worth the drive.

It is awesome to see how much Bug has grown and how much he just goes for things versus hanging back and just watching.

We were going to feed the ducks, but we went to the edge and saw this!!!  water over the wall and onto the walk way, then I noticed the grass- the water was all the way up the hill we were standing on.  This is from the rain 2 days ago when we got 4 inches of rain over night.

These boats are up on the side walk- usually only the last quarter of the boats are in the water.

Here, looking across the lake, you can see how high the water was on the opposite bank.  The grayish line on the trees and bushes is where the water came up over the bank.

And here is the boat house, the path down to it is covered in mud and the boat house in inaccessible.
because of all the flooding, the ducks would not come up to get food (bread).  But we had a good time.

Love to you,
Deb

mid week photos

Sunday we celebrated Uncle Darrell's birthday.  It was a good time for everyone.  Bug spent the day going for Jas' hat.

And of course, helped out with blowing out candles.

Yesterday, Bug had a great time playing outside.  The sun was great.
I got Bug's interim report card this week- after 4 weeks of school, his teacher wrote that he volunteers in class!!!!!! He speaks up!!!!!!  He is friends with everyone!!!!
Yes, Bug, Mister shy guy, is volunteering and speaking up.  He is coming out of his shell and I am loving it.

Love and hugs,
Deb

Another busy Saturday at our house

Let's start with Friday.  Bug stay home from school.  He has bad allergies and sinus issues this time of year and he needed a rest day.  He slept from 8 pm on Thursday until 9 am on Friday!!!!!  he never sleeps late.  he came into my office (yes, the mess below) and hung out in bed all day.  He did spend much of the afternoon writing notes to me.

These are a few of the notes he made for me- "I love you" in the top one.  One the left side is " I love you, you are the best momy in the whole world", and on the right is " I love you more than chocolate syrup and you love me more than cotton candy".

Today was soccer.  The field was squishy wet and it was raining, so we moved into the gym.  These first 2 are from practice.

They are practicing kicking to each other, so they might just do it in the game.

The pack all going after the ball.

Bug had to sell popcorn today, so in uniform.

With the 1 pm group- group selling outside of the grocery store.

with one of his classmates who is also in the pack.

After selling popcorn for 1.5 hours, we had dinner with Mam and Pap.  Then home to clean house since everyone is coming tomorrow for Uncle Darrell's birthday.

I am exhausted- is it bed time yet?

Love and hugs,
Deb

jam packed weekend: soccer and 2 birthday parties

Bug had his first soccer practice on Saturday- but since I am the coach, I don't have any pictures.  Mam and Pap came to watch and I know Mam took pictures.  I will have them next Sunday when we celebrate Uncle Darrell's birthday.
In the afternoon, we headed to the farm to celebrate hermano's birthday.  Bug, had to go and find the Batman mask to run around in for the rest of the day.  He cracks me up some days.

The party was 6 boys and 1 little girl.  The boys were in heaven and headed out to see the cows.  They were fascinated by the stall where the cows are held while the tags are put in their ears.

Bug leaping to catch the ball.
I love these action shots I catch on accident.

The kids were entertained by feeding the cows.  No need to plan games or anything else, turn the kids loose and they are good to go.

Bug just being silly.  This silly personality had come out full force this summer and it continues unabated.  There are days it is cute and other days it is not so cute.

Hermano wanted a firecracker birthday.  I love it!!!!!!

Watching presents being opened.

The big surprise- eyes must be covered.

SURPRISE!!!!!

A new, big bike.

Happy birthday Hermano- we love you!!!!

And for the end- firecrackers for all the kids.  Bug was loving being able to hold the sparklers.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH

Too cool

Preparing to watch the big firecrackers

The whole gang.

And proof of how strong Bug is, he can lift Hermano off the floor.

Today, we had a birthday party for a classmate of Bug. Her birthday was at Chuck E Cheese.

Bug had a great time and even hugged Chuck E Cheese.  I was in shock.

see, he even stood by the giant mouse for a picture

Bug ate half a piece of pizza and no cake, so we stopped for ice cream on the way home.  The birthday party had no ice cream.
It was a busy weekend.  I think Bug and I will be ready for the week to start just to have some down time.

Love and hugs,
Deb
