fall leaves- halloween post is below this one

we headed over to Mam and Pap's this afternoon. When we got there, Pap was raking leaves, so we helped out. Pictures are in reverse order One of 2 bags full of leaves. Pap has 3 more for me- these make great mulch in the gardens
Our helper-

loving the leaves. he wanted a big pile and then he wanted to jump right in. the leaves were all wet, but we let him jump in.

Pap used the leaf blower to get the leaves into the big pile.

Bug and I started with the driveway- there were lots of leaves and lots of earth worms in the leaves. I think I rescued 10 worms from the driveway.
Love and hugs,

Happy Halloween

I took Bug out tonight trick or treating. he lasted 22 minutes and then he was done. But he had fun handing out candy to the other kids and eating his.

Scary Tarzan, showing off his muscles. He refused to talk to anyone while we were out trick or treating.
I love my boy. Have a great evening.
Love to you,
Deb

Falling for Fall

After the rain yesterday- we headed out to the park today to enjoy the weather and see the trees. Bug liked the leaves so much, he needed a leaf. Apparently he needed one from the tree instead of the ground. But he was happy - finally.
Bug finally to be in the pictures.

Momma and the trees.

Self picture- because Bug was having a temper tantrum that I made him walk through the path for 5 minutes instead of allowing him to swing for the 3rd time.

I love this one- for my LHR friends, this is the long road- the end is right around the corner.

Bug stalking away from me- this is mid temper tantrum

Before the temper tantrum. I think he was done with the walk right after we saw Pap's work truck.

I love this tree- I wonder if I could transplant it in my yard????

swinging for the second time. he is so skinny, that he still fits in the baby seat. And he prefers it- Momma has to push him

The first swing- he just wanted me to give him one push and then he was doing it all by himself.
that is our evening.
Most have you have figured something is up and she announced it on her blog, so I am going to announce it here. Mariposa will be leaving us. I am not sure when, but it will be before Thanksgiving.
Our family is sad to have it come to this- but it is the best decision all around.
Nothing more to say on the situation.
Love to you,
Deb

dinner with friends

We had our friends T and Y over tonight. It is always good to have them over, although my head is usually pounding when all is said and done. 2 kids, 3 and 4 years old and the volume with them is incredible- and they just go and go. And they crash when put to bed. T took this picture of me and Bug.
These are my attempts to get pictures of me with the kids. Bug says "I love Y, we are best buddies". He is beyond cute. Now if he would just stop pinching her and making her cry.

They were driving through the house- apparently at this point, they are both name RJ. Not sure what that was about.

having dinner- tomatoes, rice and chicken. Bug and Y decided that they were only having tomatoes tonight and that is all they ate. How do you argue with kids eating veggies (or fruits as the case may be)?

It was a good night- I miss talking to T and I know Bug misses Y. we need more night like tonight.
Love and hugs,
Deb

Pumpkins and baseball-golfing

we had the family over today. During dinner, Bug wanted me to go outside and play with him. but that was not happening as I was eating brats and corn on the cob- yep, we grilled today. So Jas went out with him and they played golf, which turned in to baseball as Bug used the golf club as a bat. My boy is quite the hitter. he hit a ball to the other yard. We were all amazed at him.

I love this picture- my 2 favorite guys. Jas is amazing.

here Bug is playing a "matching" game with Pa. unfortunately Bug's idea is to turn over as many cards as possible before you stop him, in the hopes that he will find a match. When Pap told him that it was not his turn- bug stated 'pap, I am cheating like you". We all about died laughing because pap does not cheat at games, but a 4 year old in our house cheats all the time with this game.

My scary pumpkin boy- right at home with all the other faces.

scooping out pumpkin guts- ewwwwww

YUCK- no way, get that away from me!!!!!!!!!!

he was all excited, until he touched the guts

the small pumpkins- with sticker faces.

Momma pumpkin eye

happily cutting pumpkins for my boy.

Loving on the pumpkins before everything gets decorated.
I am off now- it is book time and then bed time for Bug.
Love to you,
Deb

motorcycle man

some pictures of Bug riding through the neighborhood the other night. All from the back, as he is now too fast for me walk ahead of him.

His moto forces him to balance, and he is just starting the coasting technique- he almost has it- feet in the air, moto perfectly balanced. It does not help that sidewalks in our neighborhood are 50 years old and very uneven- but his balancing skills are coming along.

This is us today- I am logged into work via my home computer. Bug visited the doctor today- nothing serious yet, but we are watching him close for any signs his illness becoming more serious. This morning, other than a fever over 100, you would have never known Bug was sick. By the doctor visit, it was quite apparent that he was sick as behavior just went down hill. If I had known that the doctor office was going put a mask on him, I would have warned him. he hated the mask.
Somehow this does not make sense to me: fever=mask, coughing, almost hacking up a lung= no mask. Somehow this seems wrong.

so since the doctor office, Bug wants me right next to him - so I have been on the couch right next to Bug, doing my emails and working. Bug is happy, I am happy and I think that work is happy.
Love to you,
Deb
