The teen and I have been shopping the last 2 days for school supplies. Our state has tax free days for school supplies and clothing this weekend, so it is perfect for shopping. We got most of the critical clothing last night after dinner and then I went out this morning to pick up spirit wear (school themed clothing) for him at school. I then went grocery shopping. At school, I was the only one wearing a mask, at the grocery store about 40% of us were wearing masks. His school is NOT requiring masks when school starts this month, and he is really happy about that. I am not so happy, I really wish they would have them- not all families/teachers choose to get vaccinated, which I don't understand. There are families with younger siblings who aren't eligible for vaccines yet.
The teen continues to drive with me- he is doing great. We have a few moments of terror for me, but those are very few and far between. I should be able to register him for driving school right after school ends for the day. It looks like he would have 2 weeks of classroom training and then driving time with the driving school. He then needs 8 hours of driving at night and he will be ready to get his official license.
