quilt show part 2- finally

I am sorry for being so behind on pictures.  I was sick this past week, again.  I am tired of being sick and tired of being tired.  I had lots time to think while I was sick, there are some changes coming for me and then for Bug.
So back to the quilts-  I like this one.  The striping was not so dynamic up close, but from further away it stands out.  Bug liked looking  for different fabrics.  He thought it was another "I spy" quilt.

Bug liked this one because you could count bunnies and irises in it. Man and I liked the colors.

This one made us all think of Guatemala.  We miss Guatemala something fierce.

This one was very cool to me, the artist was an army brat like me (that means her father was in the army too and they moved from place to place).  She made houses for each place she lived and showed the reality of army life on kids- moving every year or so.  Mam thinks I should make something like this, but I am not sure, though I like the idea.

And finally this one- WOW, WOW, WOW.  Even the quilting brings in the animals.  There were hoof prints, animal feed- like carrots, spider webs, etc all in the quilting.  This was the best by far according to our little group.

This one is just plain COOL

This one was 3 dimensional- though I could not see it, even with the 3D glasses.  Bug saw the dimensions.

I like this idea for Dresden plates.  One day when I decide I like Dresden plate designs again, I might do something like this. But it will be awhile.

cute baby quilt idea.

more posts to come this week to get everyone caught up on our adventures here at home.

Bug news to announce, Bug is getting baptized on 03May2013.  Definitely going to try to get pictures, but I will be baptizing him, so I will be giving picture duty to someone at the baptism celebration.  it is a church wide celebration and Bug will be one of at least 10 people getting baptized.  I expect there will be more people being baptized, but I will not know the number until next weekend.

Love and hugs,
Deb

quilt show part 1

Today was the quilt show downtown.  This was supposed to be the last year but there will be one more year here in town because the organizers did not send in the paperwork to break the lease in time.  So yeah, one more year.  Then the show goes back to Chicago, so I guess I need to start planning for road trips each April.
Bug was the designated picture taker this time. The descriptions of the quilts are either below or above the quilt picture

We like this quilt from Bern, Switzerland.  It is like an "I spy" quilt.  Bug found cats, kids in school, a McDonalds, and other things.  what can you see?

The  circle of Geckos- too cool.

The circle of geckos- too cool.

Just pretty

I like all these stars.
The colors, the variety, etc.  Gorgeous quilt.

Bug liked this quilt of wheels

More stars, which look like they were paper pieced, but the description says they were machine pieced.

I like this one, Bug cut off the name, but it is cool looking a minimalistic.
These flowers are all made from the quilter's grandfather's ties.  What a cool idea.
This is beautiful scene.  We got to meet the quilter, below.  She painted the background and then pieced all the detailed.  WOW!!!  We would definitely take a walk with her.
This one is beautiful, the movement is great.
More pictures coming tomorrow.

Love and hugs,
Deb

Spring Break Day camp with Momma

Monday, N came to spend the day with us while his mom worked.  With 2 boys in the house, I knew I needed to keep them occupied.  They had time for play dough in the morning.

Some swim time before lunch.

Then after lunch, they had a some soccer with friends from Bug's class.

I was so excited to see N dressed in Michigan colors- his mom usually does not support Michigan at all.  I must save this picture and bring it many times in the future.

the boys were pretty tired by the end of the day, which we closed out with some finger painting.  I heard from Julie that N was asleep before they made it to the highway.  N will be back on Saturday for the afternoon/evening with us while his mom attends a wedding.  I have to think of some more things for the boys to do.  Top of the list is just play time.

Love and hugs,
Deb
