Coney Island and Sunlite pool

Before we get to today's fun,  some pictures of bug's first soccer practice of the season.  He started on one team and they moved him to an older team last weekend.  We were supposed to have a pre-season tournament, but too many kids are still out in summer vacations before school starts in 2 weeks.  So we will not be in the tournament.  Bug is playing on the Lighting team, which is U11 level.

Today, I took Bug and friend to Coney Island/Sunlite pool.  Mam remembers going here as a young girl.  the place has been open since the 1920s (almost 100 years).  The pool is 2 football fields long, different depths.  There are slides into the pool and water slides over on one side into a shallow pool.  Across the parking lot is the ride portion, lots of amusement park type rides.  We only had a few hours to enjoy, but we had a good time.  Next time we are going for the whole day.

Having lunch before we swim.

looking at the water slides, you can use 'tubes" like the snow tubes or go down just by yourself.  We chose to go down on tubes, though Bug refused to do this ride at all.  I do wish Bug was a little more of a risk taker and would try things before he absolutely says NO to things.  He misses out on so much by giving into his fear.

Me and bug's friend ending our ride.

Happy water slide riders.

looking back to the pool.

pictures of the amusment park rides will be coming  tomorrow, they are on my phone.

Love and hugs,
