We headed over to the farm today to pick up some hormone/antibiotic free beef (AKA- yummy beef) and to see Hermano and his family. While we were there, vaca dad asked if Bug wanted to feed the new calf. So off we trekked to the pen to feed the little calf. He was pretty scared of us, so we had to enlist some help rounding him up so Bug could feed him.
LS is helping around the farm and he helped get the calf's mouth open for the bottle. The calf is still learning to take the bottle. The calf is a twin and the momma can't nurse both, so this one is being bottled fed for a while.
The boys- such handsome little men
We brought Hermano home with us for some play time. We met up with J and N for so swim time. We were going to jump on the trampoline today, but we are finally getting some rain. We had a break in the rain for swim time, which was good since we had to swim outside. The indoor pools were being cleaned at 2 Y's we were going to swim at.
When wee got there, the boys all were given red bands- meaning they can not swim alone. But we watched another swimmer take the yellow band test and J and I realized that Bug and N could pass the test easy nothing. So with some maternal encouragement, the boys took the swim test (they had to swim 25 feet without touching bottom) and they passed!
Hermano hung out on the steps, throwing toys to N and Bug to pick up off the pool bottom. They played in the pool for an hour.
There was also some jumping off the side of the pool. It was a great time. The mommas got to talk and the boys got to play. As we left the pool, the rain started up again. We just missed being rained on.
After swimming, we took the boys for dinner. They choose pizza which outvoted the momma's choice of Mexican.
There is always next time.
Even though the day was rainy, we still found ways to have a great time. This was a great way to end the summer.Love and hugs,
Deb
