first basketball game and sledding

After the wicked snow yesterday, Bug had a basketball game at 9 am this morning.  This should have been the second basketball game for the season, but the game last night was cancelled due to the weather.  So here is the first game.  This is Bug in his uniform.  The shorts are huge on him, but the size the other boys have is way too small and they did not have the next size up for Bug to wear.  These are adult small or mediums.  OH MY!

warming up before the game- getting the rebound.  I was responsible for the scorebook this week, what a learning experience.  Bug's team lost 6-23.  The other team had played in a pre-season tournament, so this was their 6th or 7th game, but it was the first game they won.  Our boys will get there.  Bug said he had a great time playing.  Next week's game is an away game, so I will be able to watch the game and take pictures during the game.

After basketball, we went home and changed clothes and headed out to sled.  We went to the hill by the middle school (grades 6-8).  Mam used to work at this school.  When we got there, there was only one other family, but by the time we left, there were lots of families coming to sled.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I went down a few times too.  To get back up the hill, you have to climb 52 stairs.  We got our workout today.

having a great time

Bug is way up there at the top of the hill.

and here he comes.

I love this.

For Janet, he wore his Canada mittens.

Mom, do I have to keep walking up the stairs?

Some other families just let their kids walk back up the hill, right in the way of the sled riders.  So dangerous.  I kept telling Bug to go, the kids would eventually learn their lesson, but Bug would not do it (good boy that he is), but I had no problem yelling at kids to get out of the way.

We had a great morning.  On this last ride down the hill, the sled broke.  After warming up in the car with some hot chocolate, Bug and went and bought him a new sled.  More ice is coming on Sunday, so I think we will be able to sled most of this week, after homework and on days where there is no basketball practice.

love and hugs,
Deb
