Bug, Mam, my friend L and I went to the zoo today. Bug had the day off school. It is his last day off before Spring break right after Easter. The weather looked bad when we left the house, but it was a beautiful day by the end.

We saw the little giraffe, Lulu. She will be leaving our zoo so that her father can not breed with her. We have 4 female giraffes and one male giraffe.

Bug enjoyed seeing her. He is very sad that she is leaving our zoo. But, Lulu's mother, Tessa, is due to deliver any day, so we will have a new baby giraffe to enjoy.

there were some young flamingos out for display with a handler. this one is about 1 year old. I did not realize that the flamingos darken with age.
The peacocks are in mating season- a sure sign of spring. This one was parading for us and anyone who stopped by to view him. He was hanging out with the penguins, not sure he realized they were not interested in him.
Cute little baby penguin. He still has feathers and was not too sure about the water in their area.

Bug was not happy at this point and refused to smile. I am not sure why he acted like this, but it lasted for the rest of the trip. Sullen little man. He is good boy, I just think there are lots of emotions riding thru his body right now and he just does not know how to manage them.
