Day 4- coffe tour and mule riding

Tuesday we were on our own- la familia had family things to take care of.  So Amiga climbed Pacaya (volcano) and Mam, Bug and I went back to the finca for an afternoon of riding mules and touring the coffee farm.
Some fun signs before we start the rest of the pictures.

Carlos, our guide for the coffee tour.  Bug was bored on the tour, I thought it was fascinating.  Did you that it takes 8 pounds of coffee beans to make 1 pound of actual usable/drinkable coffee?  The coffee on this farm is exported mostly to Japan and Korea.

At the of tour, we all got coffee.  Only one teenager drank more than 1 cup.  Bug and I took one drink and decided we needed water.

After the coffee tour and tasting, we got ready to ride the mules.

Our little traveling family. Yes, we planned the shirt color theme (no matter what Mam says)

Mam on her mule, Jackie

Bug on his burra (female burro), Canchanchalula.  he had a great time, this was all Bug wanted to do- ride mules.

Mam and Bug coming up the mountain.  Bug had to stay with the cowboy for safety.  But, Bug did just fine on the burra.

Heading back to the barn.

Happy little man.

After finishing up at the finca, we headed back to Antigua to pick up Amiga.  She was not back from from the volcano hike, so we treated our taxi driver to a soda at the hotel Antigua.  He drove us into Antigua and then stayed in Antigua in order to drive us back to the hotel in Guatemala City.  He was a great guy.

Love and hugs,
Momma
