New Year's eve

it was a gorgeous day yesterday.  bug spent 2 hours riding his bike with friends in the neighborhood.  Yes, he is riding in the street, but he has to have  an adult standing at the curb watching both ways for him.  He is not allowed to ride alone in the street until he is at least 7 years old (I am not sure my heart can take it).  But he had a great time.  I took him and Big M on a bike ride around some other streets in our neighborhood.  They loved it.

We headed over to Hermano's house for New Year's Eve.  We gave Hermano his Christmas ornament.

Hermano gave Bug a motorcycle.

There was some playtime with Vaca Daddy.  We are trying to encourage Bug to believe that a daddy would be great for our family- I would like to be married (though there is no one in the picture). Bug is adamant that he does not want a daddy.

At 10 pm, we took the boys outside to celebrate the new year- my thought being that the boys would not make it to midnight (it was midnight somewhere in the world).  The boys had horns to blow, I had some confetti poppers for them, and they yelled and screamed and danced. And the bonus, waking up the cows (vacas).

Vaca Momma had some small fireworks and the boys enjoyed watching the fireworks

Since it was so windy, we put the sparklers in the ground and let the boys watch them.

There was some sitting next to each other, but lack of cooperation going on.

One little man made it until midnight, but he was pretty exhausted.

Another little man made it to 11:15 and then he was too exhausted.

Vaca Daddy had no one to love on, but he got lots of New Year's love from Vaca Momma.
So that was our New Year's Eve.  Bug's second New Year to be awake and seeing the fun - the first being 2009 when we arrived in Guatemala and sat in our hotel room and watched the skyline filled with fireworks across Guatemala City.

Happy New Year to everyone.

Love and hugs,
Deb
