Easter Egg hunt with 100 other children born in Guatemala

we had a busy day. It started with a trip to the cemetery so Pap could clean the grave of his brother. Usually Pap will then sit and talk to the grave, but today it wasFRIO, FRIO, FRIO (COLD, COLD, COLD) this morning and it was a quick trip. Bug and I sat in the car and Bug enjoyed a sucker. After the cemetery- we headed over to the nature center for an Easter egg hunt with 100 children born in Guatemala. Bug refused to be in the picture, so you will have to take my word that there were 100 kids. We got to see C and J, but I forgot to get my camera out. Bug is as tall C and C is a year older than Bug!!!! We got to hang out with E. E is our friend- his parents and I met before Bug came home and we shared stories and suggestions. Now, we attend the same church as E and he and Bug are in the same class. So it is always nice to see them
E and Bug riding a dinosaur. E was making it go fast, fast, fast.

Bug got his turn in front.

Playing on the playscape while the eggs were put out for the kids.

Getting ready to star. It looks like we are all alone- I just picked a good spot- because Bug gets very overwhelmed in large groups. So we were off to the side. But as soon as the older kids saw no kids in this area- they started into the area. Luckily, watchful organizers herded the older kids back out of the area for the younger kids.

Ready to start- Bug refusing to cooperate with requests to look at Man

And he is off and running to get eggs

carefully inspecting the eggs

see all the colored eggs he walked right by- he wanted the one in the tree!!!

Momma, making a vain attempt to get Bug to stop and pick up eggs

He did get quite a few. It looks like so many eggs- all plastic and filled with candies. But when all the eggs were opened and the candy put in the bucket- it just covered the bottom of the bucket. Oh well, Bug will be quite pleased with the treats from the Bunny this year at home.
I am off to open candy and get it ready. Mam and Pap are coming at 7 am - what are they thinking??????? They will be put to work hiding eggs in the living and dinning rooms. I have a plan to get the real eggs hidden in the yard tomorrow morning after Bug and I get up, so I have to get the note with instructions ready for Mam and Pap.
Love and hugs and HAPPY EASTER.
Deb
